From Volunteers to Entrepreneurs

After over 30 years as volunteer missionaries, having served in over 20 countries around the world, we decided it was time to pass the baton and look at working towards building income streams to secure our financial future.

This decision in 2005 resulted in moving from Japan, where we had lived for almost 10 years, to New Zealand.

We arrived with no friends, family, contacts, or employment. Undaunted, we embarked on a journey filled with challenges and opportunities.

The task before us was not easy, nor did we expect it to be, but with aspirations and goals, we set out to create a plan to meet our expectations.

With an eventual total of fourteen income streams over 14 years, we incorporated a strategy that included educating ourselves in passive income streams as well as building a property portfolio, internet marketing, shares and forex trading, a gemstone business, employment at a leading IP law office, online retail, e-Commerce mentoring — to name a few.

We Planned Our Work and Worked Our Plan

Collectively, our efforts paid off and in 2019 it was time for us to move from the city to a small rural community in Taranaki, New Zealand.

Remarkably, having met our goals and achieved what would usually take decades to accomplish, our penchant for passive income streams continues. Rather than sitting on savings, or hoping the banks’ interest rates will improve, or relying on a pension to see us through our golden years, we diversified our portfolio with a vision to keep growing our money.
